The Zoning Board of Adjustments reviews applications for variances, waivers, and special exceptions to the Land and Use Development Ordinance and either approves or denies them. The Board also hears and decides appeals alleging errors in any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by an administrative officer in enforcing the Ordinance, and considers matters on a case-by-case basis.
Over the years, Flomaton has benefited from its status as a rail center. It serves
as a gateway to the Gulf Coast and continues to progress from development of
its natural resources, namely timber, sand, gravel, oil, and natural gas.
